” Why are everyone staring at us? ”

” Because we look like assassins! ”

Aloysius replied bluntly after taking the last bite of garlic bread. Valerie puts down her fork and wipes her lips. Her elegance blinded everyone present there but the fact they were dressed so mysteriously erupted the curiosity among the people.

A sly smirk played on Valeries face as she looked at Aloysius.

” Isn it happening according to our plan? ” She asked , getting up .

” Yes, princess. ”

Aloysius paid for the food and they both walked out the inn , got on their horses and headed towards the holy city of Perriere.

” Now all is left to get arrested by the holy knights of Perriere! ”

” Yes, princess. ”

They both laughed because Valeries plan was successfully claimed. As few of the security guards present in the inn must have already informed the holy knights after observing the suspicious dressing of theirs.

After a few minutes they were passing through deserted streets, fortunately there were street lampposts otherwise it shouldn be possible to keep going in the nighttime.

THUD THUD THUD

Aloysius got alerted, he unsheathed his sword and whispered.

” They are behind us, princess. ”

Valerie nodded and took out her daggers which were attached to her cargo pants . And they weren ordinary daggers but infused with mana power.

” Aloysius make sure to show your best version today because our mission is to meet their leader Ezekiel Perriere, ” she said with sarcasm filled in her every word and headed towards the coming holy knights.

The holy knights took their stance and came at them with their sterling naked swords. Valerie smirked and swung her blades unleashing the golden flames which she directed towards the holy knights .

ARGH

Two of the knights were sent flying from the mana force, others grasped in bewilderness. They definitely were surprised to see the pure golden mana because it was a sign of the royal bloodline of the Obela empire.

” Now your turn Aloysius. ”

She gets back and he gallops forward , not to mention this was going to be a fun sight to watch.

I hope he doesn kill them, rip holy knights! Valerie smiled.

Seeing Aloysius coming towards them with his tremendous aura, knights trembled in fear. One of the knights shouted in terror, ” enemies has entered in our land, call the lord paladin. ”

Aloysius didn bother to give them time, rather he leapt in the air and slashed their heads with a swift move followed by his devilish aura.

He then turned his face at the remaining knights who were drop dead after seeing a horrifying smile on Aloysiuss face. A satisfying chuckle crept on his face as he swung his aura sword high and with a blink of eye, the holy knights were snapped dead on the ground. The heads rolling and lifeless bodies soaked in blood.

Usually the holy land of Perriere was pure and blessings of gods. But today it tasted of grievance and blood. What a pity that such an unprecedented day would come just because one royal princess wants to accomplish her revenge.

” Princess, Ive followed your orders. ”

Aloysius bowed in front of Valerie and smiled . His strong fingers held the sword firmly, red viscous blood kept dripping from the sharp tip of blade.

” Im proud of you Aloysius . ”

She praised him and looked in the front. Looks like they were surrounded by holy knights and this time there was a familiar yet unfamiliar person with knights.

Hes here but why am I feeling nervous…Valerie murmured under her breath while embracing herself with arms due to the sudden chilling atmosphere.

Aloysius came forward and stood in front with his sword facing at the knights.

” Princess, Ill deal with… ”

He was interrupted in the middle by Valerie.

” You can deal with him , hes lord paladin Ezekiel Perriere. ”

Hearing that name from the princess, Aloysius puts his sword back in its scabbard because who doesn know lord Ezekiel Perriere. Everyone including demonic realm beings knows the man who was blessed by war god himself and is capable of destroying the existence of the world with just one swing of his majestic sword.

Valerie gulped nervously clenching her fist as one of knights on horse marched towards her direction. She was going to face that man again who in past life treated her like she never existed…

The galloping of the horse paused and a man covered in silver armour got down with his sterling silver sword glistening in an icy fire aura.

” Reveal yourself now , ” in a heart threatening voice that the knight shouted.

Valerie raised her face a bit and glanced at the tall silhouette of a man standing just a few steps away. He stood there like a devil shimmered with gods grace, his white tunic hung loosely over his muscular build wrapped with silver armour around his shoulders to his chest.

What the heck…!

Valeries breath hitched for a second when her eyes met with his crimson red eyes. Her blood felt the grilling gaze freezing her at a glance. He was so dangerously handsome and those silver hair added more charm to his features.

Valerie took a step back in shock, in her past life she had never seen her husbands face who was Ezekiel Perriere himself but now that she had seen it feels unreal.

H-How can someone be an angel and devil at the same time? she questioned herself in awe.

Now there is nothing to hide, she has to face him even if she wants to kill him. For that important mission Ive to make this man believe Im worth his expectations.

” Greetings to lord Ezekiel Perriere, Im Princess Valerie de Floyen. ”

Saying that she slides her cloak from head and reveals her face which made other knights drop their jaws. She smirked as she walked towards emotionless Ezekiel. Her jewelled blue eyes sparked coldness creeping directly at Ezekiel while her long golden hair dazzled behind.

” Lets find out if you
e not lying! ”

As expected, someone like him. Ezekiel swung his sword releasing a powerful ice fire aura towards Valerie. She smiled and moved her hands in circular motion forming golden mana flames and directed it towards Ezekiels ice fire as her shield.

BOOM

Both the powers clashed causing super mana blast. Ezekiels eyes widened in surprise but he immediately contained his etiquette and put his sword in its scabbard.

” Greetings to your highness. ”

” Huh ? ”

Valerie reacted shockingly as well as others did. She thought he would continue attacking her and in the end she would pretend to be losing and get him to arrest her. But all changed!

Aloysius looks at Valerie with the same confused expression.

” There will be a slight change in our plan now, ” she whispered and walked close to Ezekiel. Taking out one ring box she kneeled down in front of Ezekiel.

” Marry me lord Ezekiel Perriere. ”

WHAT????

Well this is my original mission of coming here! Valerie smiled at shocked Ezekiel after causing such a disgraceful act.

In one of the camps of holy knights on the borders of Perriere.

Valerie replied bluntly, maintaining her beautiful smile on her lips. Of course all this is fake but she has to keep smiling to make her feel less nervous.

There was pin drop silence, Ezekiel sat there reading the contract papers which was given by Valerie. She could notice the tension forming on his eyebrows and his eyes narrowing as he goes through every single line written in contract.

” I see but Im curious about one thing… ”

” Whats that? ”

She immediately asked and her eyes met his. He looked displeased maybe because of your weird contract terms. She wanted to stay in her empire even after getting married to him and secondly he doesn have to worry about having a mistress.

Well Valerie added this term because she already knew in future Ezekiel will have affair with her step sister Helene so instead of getting heartbroken she decided to accept it.

Yeah, I don plan to invest my feelings in this emotionless man, she smirked, calculating the results in her mind.

” Why did you enter the holy land of Perriere as assassins ? ”

Unpredictable! This man is asking something unrelated to the contract.

” Because the emperor would never give me permission to visit holy land Perriere even if theres no war going on, ” she shrugged .

” But the war is currently going on ! ”

Before that damn emperor sells her off to this cold hearted paladin she will have to get this man into contract marriage and stay away from his coldness.

She took a deep breath and got on her knees. Pearl-like tears rolled down her porcelain fair cheek.
